What is Success? South Korea, development, theory, & ethics
My recent publication on these topics (open access)
I wanted to share a peer-reviewed article that I recently published with the journal Emancipations.
It can be found here and is published with an open access license so it is freely available.
Though the article centers the Korean experience of ‘modernity’ and ‘development,’ a good part of the analysis attempts to understand the value, and necessity, of taking seriously the ethical implications of ostensibly technical (or empirical) findings.
It hits on many of the same themes explored in the essays and podcasts here at The Interesting Times so I felt it may be of interest to our readers. Thanks as always for your support of this humble, yet earnest, effort to provide some thoughtful and critical reflection upon the world(s) we inhabit.
